“He did not demerit, far from him, at his side, the good baritone Lucas Meachem, in the more than demanding role of Athanaël; beautiful voice, wide, sound. An incisive accent and interpreter always attentive to the musical and psychological needs of his character, he offered a portrait of the tormented cenobite of convincing importance, both vocally and scenically.”
